DHA Central Office
Working together with Page, Studio Completiva strove to create a connection between Denver Housing Authorities new Central Office and its community. This design was an exciting opportunity to further reinforce the vibrant Mariposa neighborhood and its connection to the City of Denver and the surrounding natural beauty.
Our vision is to create a site-specific building that gives the community a sense of ownership and accessibility. Even as an office building, the building is meant to be a community resource and an active participant in the community.
Thus, we opened up the building to the neighbors so that they are able to appreciate the beauty and dynamism of the Mariposa community, Denver, and the mountains. The building was named the Climb. The focal point of the building is a vertical, urban trail that is integrated into the building. From 10th and Osage, the trail head, visitors and neighbors can walk up to the public rooftop through a set of stairs that snakes up the building with views of the site, the light rail station, the mountains, and the city of Denver. While we did not win this competition, it was a wonderful experience creating this design and reflecting the beautiful environment we live in through this building.
