Tantra Lake

Tantra Lake is a 16 building, 185-unit property owned and operated by Boulder Housing Partners. The buildings contain 1–3-bedroom affordable units for people at 60% AMI.

The Interiors renovation included new finishes such as flooring, cabinets, countertops and point, as well as Energy Star appliances and LED light fixtures. The kitchens were reconfigured to allow for more reusable space and common areas. Exterior work included new windows, doors, gutters and downspouts, paint, siding and balcony repairs and security improvements. The renovation meet Boulder’s smart regulations, requiring all rental housing to meet a basic energy efficiency standard as well as meet the Enterprise Green Communities standard.

Careful consideration was taken during the design of this project to create spaces that the residents can truly enjoy and feel proud of and to raise the bar above what people typically think of “affordable housing”. Tantra Lake speaks to the missions of both Boulder Housing Partners and Studio Completiva, providing a safe, dignified, and affordable space for the residents of Boulder to live and prosper.

Beginning early in the design process, we worked with the contractor and client on multiple pricing exercises to make sure we met the project schedule and budget. With this extensive pre-construction process, we were able to identify and maintain the significant design elements needed to achieve the client’s goals. Internally, we scheduled QA/QC reviews throughout the process to ensure a comprehensive set was provided at each milestone.
